GIVING

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" - 2 Corinthians 9:7

Giving is part of the fabric of our story

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son. Jesus gave his life so we might live. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit. The gospels paint beautiful pictures of generosity in the widow who gave her two coins, the fishermen who left their careers to follow Jesus, and the grateful sister who poured extravagant perfume on Jesus’ feet. The Bible tells the story of God who gave and a people who respond by giving.

Generosity is an important next step

Jesus made a statement that is as convicting today as it was when he spoke it nearly 2000 years ago. He said, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:21) It's amazing how God’s Word cuts right through the heart. When we look at our receipts or reflect a bit on our spending habits, its not hard to figure out what we value. Jesus tells us that our money follows our heart.

Giving is a natural overflow of the heart that is here at NECFC. When you give in an act of worship, those resources go directly to support and fulfill the ministries and the vision of the church.

This is why giving is such an important next step for us. God uses His people and the resources that He gave them to fulfill His mission here on earth.

We want to be a community known for being joyfully generous with our time, talents, and treasures.
